After having not posted for a long time (due to many work and personal related reasons that I won’t go into on this blog but perhaps in greater detail over on Life on Autism), it may seem unusual to post something that is not a book review.
Part of this is because the reasons for not posting are also the reasons for not reading as many books as usual but mostly the reason is because I really like the sound of this new book from Chris Bonnello.
Chris Bonnello’s other book, ‘What We Love Most About Life‘, was a book that I came across when I was in a considerably dark place mentally and emotionally and for that reason it has a special place for me. Which is why I wanted to post about Chris’s new book – “Guerrillas”.
To lift the excerpt right from the Unbound page, Guerrillas is:
A near-future war novel, where teenagers who escaped an attack on their special school become the last hope of freeing the British people.
Now – I’ve honestly never been much for any type of war novels. Much to the surprise of my work colleagues, I have never read nor watched any of the Hunger Games/Maze Runner/Enders Game type novels which fall in the same sort of genre zone as this book. I’ve never quite worked out why they assume I would have but that’s another topic entirely. But I like the idea of Chris’s book, even if the genre isn’t what I would normally read. So I went ahead and pledged and pre-ordered.
So I’m not in the business of telling people what to do and I am somewhat distracted so this has become a little rambley but if you’re interested the links to more information are below!
