I like to pre-order books (although my partner does tell me that I already have enough books). It’s like getting a present from your past self.
So far I have decided to show some restraint and only pre-order 3 books:
- Asperger’s Children: The Origins of Autism in Nazi Vienna by Edith Sheffer – Hans Aspergers role in the history of autism has been a debated one for quite some time. As I understand it, he was positioned in quite a positive light in Neurotribes and quite a negative light in In a Different Key (I really need to get around to reading these books). I remember him being referenced quite neutrally in Adam Feinstein’s book on the history of autism. So this book caught my attention for that reason.
- Autism in the Workplace: Realizing the Potential by Adam Feinstein – I really enjoyed Adam Feinstein’s book on the history of autism and when I saw he had another autism book due out I quickly preordered it
- The Colour of Bee Larkam’s Murder by Sarah J. Harris – This was somewhat pre-ordered on a whim. It looks to be a mystery novel with the protagonist as a boy with synathesia. Something about the synopsis was interesting so into the pre-order pile it goes.
That is my book shaped pre-ordering done, what books are going on your pre-order list?
